Our Staff

It has been said by one of our customers that "stepping into our studio was like stepping into our home." All of our well qualified staff members are also very friendly and have your child's best interest at heart. Our #1 goal is to make each and every child feel special, confident and regard dance as a rewarding activity. We strive for our students to acquire the passion and love for dance that we posess.

 

 

 



 Lauren Elliott 

Owner / Director / Instructor

Lauren has 32 years of dance experience. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She studied under the direction of Terry Earnhardt at the Dance Trap and taught for 2 years for Miss Terry before purchasing the studio in June of 1998. She was a cheerleader at Mount Pleasant Middle & High School for 5 years where she was captain of her squad her senior year and has competed in and judged numerous beauty pagents. Ms. Lauren has a geniuine love for children as well as for dance. So to combine these two as her career has become a dream come true for her. She currently teaches Predance, Ballet, Tap & Jazz (5-6 year olds) and the Junior Competition Team Tap & Jazz. Ms Lauren and her husband Jim live in Concord and have two children, Ragan (7) and Anna Claire (5).
 



 Felisha Barbee

Instructor

 

Felisha has 21 years of dance experience. She studied under the direction of Terry Earnhardt for 10 years and completed her training at Central Piedmont Community College. She has taught for Dance Trap for the past 8 years. Felisha has been a practicing nurse at NorthEast Medical Center for the past six years. Felisha has choreographed competition routines for Mount Pleasant High School's Dance Team and has co-coached a Pop Warner Cheerleading Squad. She cheered for 4 years at MPHS and traveled with her squad to Texas for Nationals her Senior year. Ms. Felisha currently teaches Ballet, Tap & Funky Jazz ages 10 & up and Technique level 1. She and her husband Jody live in Rockwell and have 3 children, Christoper (12), Emma (7), and Bo (2).
 



Mindy Kluttz

Instructor

 
Mindy has 19years of dance experience. She began her dance studies at age 3 in Charlotte under the instruction of Caroline Green. She completed her training under the direction of Terry Earnhardt and Wendy Shue, specializing in tumbling/acrobatics. She has been Dance Trap's Acrobatic Instructor for the past 2 years. She cheered for Mt. Pleasant Middle and High School for 5 years and has co-coached a Pop Warner Cheerleading squad. Ms. Mindy currently teaches all levels of Tumbling. She and her husband Trent reside in Locust and have two children, Bailey (7) and Tessa (6).

 

  

 

 
Vikki Artuso

Instructor

Vikki is currently the Head Aerobics Instructor and a Personal Trainer at Fitness For Her in Concord. She was in a Dance Company for 6 years, danced for the Buffalo Bills and co-owned a dance studio in New York.  She taught Hip Hop for Miss Lauren in Mt. Pleasant for two years. Miss Vikki currently teaches Tap & Funky Jazz (7, 8 & 9 yrs.) and the Hip Hop & Senior Tap & Jazz Competition Teams.  She and her husband Victor reside in Harrisburg and have two children, Marissa (10) and Nick (5).

Ginger Hodges

Administrative Manager

 
 

Ginger introduced Ms Lauren to the dance world in 1976 when she enrolled her in her first dance class. She had no idea at the time that she would eventally work for her daughter in her very own dance school. Ms. Ginger received her Associate degree in Secretarial Science from Stanly Technical College and has also taken numerous classes in Economics and Accounting. She and her husband Rick reside in Mt. Pleasant and have three daughters, Lauren (34), Jill (30) and Mindy (28).

Lauren Myers

  

  

Lauren, a recent graduate of UNC-Charlotte with a BA in dance, has been teaching all over NC for the past 8 years. Her choreography has been recognized by many in the competition industry and has won numerous 1st place and platinum awards. After being accepted into the School of American Ballet in New York City, NY at the age of 12, Lauren chose to continue her dance training at Broadway Dance Center, also in NYC, and in Winston-Salem, NC at North Carolina School of the Arts. Before entering into college, Lauren spent her summers as head choreographer for Cape Fear Regional Theatre’s summer drama camps in Fayetteville, NC, teaching musical theatre routines to children of all ages. While at UNCC, Lauren was a member of the varsity dance team, The Golddusters, under the instruction of Veronica Bradley-Badgett. Lauren has over 19 years of dance experience and looks forward to sharing her love of dance with each of her students.
